Major limb amputation is a very devastating event in any person, be it from diabetes or trauma. An amputee is a major burden for the society and family. In India every 30 seconds somebody looses his limb due to diabetes. Vascular diseases is a leading cause of lower limb amputation in India and the sad fact is that majority of theses are preventable.
Vascular Society of India is in the forefront in creating awareness about preventing this major catastrophe in a persons life.
We are proud to host this year’s national conference of the Vascular Society of India at Kochi from September 14th to September 17th. To create awareness among general public, on the side-lines of this conference we are organising a "mini marathon" on 16th of September, Saturday at Kochi.
All the proceeds of this event would be donated for rehabilitation and providing state of art limb prosthesis to deserving people from armed forces and general public. Be a part of this venture by participating in the run or by donations. Lets "Join hands for their Legs" and work towards a society free of amputations.

Participation in this event is at the runner’s own risk. Although medical and other personnel will assist you when possible, remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own well-being during the run.
Physical fitness along with sufficient training is required for this event.
